Does this confirm that main character moves to Alola from another region (like Kanto) and that's why the Meowth seen in your home isn't Alolan?

It's just a trailer, it doesn't legally have to be identical to a game released half a year later.
They probably palette swapped Meowth in that shot so they could announce its new form on a different date, thus keeping a constant level of hype.
