Got to the first gym city, opened up route 2, went back to poke center in second city, game soft locked and I lost 15 minutes.

I'll give it another go once the patch server is working I guess, seemed good so far other than the softlock and some occasional lag.

I guess you're right. Although I personally don't agree with the concept of genuine gender neutrality, it's the dev's choice to put it in and if I complain about a choice they made about their own game that is only minor anyways, I'm just as bad as the SJW's I complain about. It's not fair to have a negative pavlovian response to something I disagree with to the point where I won't play the games. Besides, it was easy to implement and it's their indie game, so they can do whatever the fuck they wish.

Yeah, It can be really laggy. I was going through the reddit and this person suggested that it had to do with the game engine. That it doesnt do well with multiprocessing. To reduce the amount of cpu's to 2 and change the priority to real time. it kinda helps

How is it that this game is slow as balls on my netbook, yet it doesn't consume all my CPU resources? Fucking devs did a bad job optimizing this game, and it saddens me to not to be able to play it at more than 5fps in overworld, and 2fps in battles after the first pokemon has been sent out.

Well, I'm running it on an atom netbook. Asking around their discord chat I get people telling me it doesn't run very smoothly on a lot of machines, and that effect is amplified on my machine due to it being an intel atom netbook.
It would run much faster if the engine used my graphics card and all my cores (2) instead of only one and software rendering. Fucking factorio runs 60fps and that's a way more complex game than this could ever hope to be.
