Meowth is the exception. I'm just fearful that only Meowth will get the Alola form and it'll end up evolving into regular Persian.
Aside from dark typing, Meowth isn't too different from normal Meowth. They share the same abilities, while the other Alolan forms were given new ones.
I don't want to assume Persian gets an Alolan form just because Meowth does. I can totally see Game Freak giving only Meowth an Alola form because of how iconic it is in the anime (so much more than Persian).
Besides, according to its lore, its transformation occurred moreso out of a personality change rather than a need for survival (like Marowak) or natural interaction with the environment (like Exeggutor, Sandslash, and Nintales). It's plausible that Alolan Meowth just goes back to regular Persian because it undergoes another personality change. I hope this isn't true, but the fact that Persian wasn't shown isn't helping.
