FUCK NO. Weeaboo characters. They look like they were designed by the sonic team. The guy literally looks like shadow the hedgehog.. Disproportionate.

Cant catch all the pokemon.. can only snag pokemon. Cant get all 150 (or at the time.250). It was more like 60 you could only get. Maybe less.

Main character had a cheesy corny motorcycle straight out of FF. Thsi is pokemon.. At LEAST TRY to make it seem believable.

It has one of the best main girls, but other than that, I don't remember much from it.

I also like the idea of a region where wild pokémon are rare and the overall ambientation of Orre. It's pretty unique as far as pokemon regions go, as even other spin off titles have grassy routes and caves as the main enviroment.

I liked the premise.
A more standard JRPG using the Pokemon battle mechanics.

If they could manage to properly combine the two, provide standard JRPG flair with their traditional pokemon gameplay, that would be GOAT and the refresh the franchise needs.

It's too bad they never released a 3rd game because in the 2nd wild Pokemon were just starting to appear. If they did a follow up we could have 5-10 new Pokemon to collect as special treats like the Manaphy from Ranger + Orre forms of Pokemon like Zigzagoon.

Found the JP iso on a forum called 128bit dot me. Should still be available, just checked. You'll need a program called GCRebuilder. Open the iso in that program, and extract the entire root folder. Then do the exact same thing with an NA iso, which is considerably easier to find. Find a file in the JP folder called "field_common.fsys." Copy and paste it into the NA folder, replacing the existing one. Open the NA folder using "Root > Open" in GCRebuilder, and simply choose Rebuild. You should have a new GCM in English with slutty Rui. Works not only in Dolphin, but on console if you have a loader.

I like Colosseum more for a variety of reasons, but XD is vastly superior. More Pokémon variety, more areas, more things to do, more challenges, better designed "levels"? Better designed shadow Pokémon, this time they are actually a threat instead of being worse than the originals, pretty shitty final boss compared to Colosseum though. Bosses in general, they were strong and dangerous only because of shadow Pokémon, in Colosseum they had actual good tactics that would fuck you over.

Not the best but an interestin offshoot I remember fondly.
The restricted pokemon pool makes you think out of thw box of your usual preferences and the madmax scenario was kinda cool.

Would have been interesting if they some how got the data from Colosseum on your memory card and you could fight with the team you used at Realgam Tower.
