Megas:

Pros
>Super Powerful
>Usually have better abilities
>Made past forgotten pokemon viable
>Appealing to pokemon fans

Cons
>Can't hold items
>Toxic to competitive environment (too overcentralizing to both singles and doubles, you NEED a mega to win)
>Most are either outclassed or just plain unfair
>Some designs look dumb


Alolan Forms (so far):

Pros
>Gives much love to the gen 1 pokemon that didn't get a mega
>They still seem powerful, but also balanced (BSTs will most likely be arranged from normal forms, not increased, which is understandable)
>Amazing designs
>Can hold separate items
>The idea behind it is brilliant
>Overall good reception from everyone

Cons
>Looks limited to gen 1 so far. May change in the future however, but we will see.
>The abilities given are somewhat mediocre so far.
