It beat alain's tyranitar without a problem, managed to beat metagross despite taking multiple direct hits, and got some nice damage in on charizard.

Did pikachu get some superpowers in between episodes, or is it just one of those determination=win things?

A level 100 Pikachu is still a Pikachu. Alain has been powerlevelling Charizard on other megas, which probably makes it about even given all the shitmons Ash has fought (not to mention the 40-odd other pokemon he's split the XP with).

Alain is the guy who almost won against an Elite Four's starter's Mega despite being weak to it. Of course he's going to fucking beat the shitty ninja frog. Watch it be because of "fatigue" or some shit. Ash hasn't had to fight in a major tournament and then do a 6v6 before.

Ash's Pikachu is the equivalent of grinding boars like in the WoW parody episode of South Park.

He's gotten 48+ badges, and fought in several conferences already. Pikachu is just Level 100 in a field of low-levelled mons. But a Level 100 Pikachu isn't THAT strong at BST 300 and no Light Ball.

I hope this guy is content. I really like that Alain was probably only prepared to have trouble with Greninja, then got some of his most powerful Pokemon completely decimated by a fucking Pikachu. Now, he's been through a gauntlet and is at the tail-end of a 6v6. He's exhausted, will only hold the form just long enough to potentially win (maybe even a double KO), but Alain will squeak by on top.

Then, all the Mega energy he's gathered launches Flare's plan for Zygarde. He walks away with Lysandre. 10-20 episodes later, Ash and Alain have their final battle to stop Flare, and that's the fight Ash wins.

That way, he loses the league but beats Alain.

People bring that up, but Pikachu took a direct hit from a Zekrom Bolt Strike right before that battle, and then couldn't use any Electric moves when Ash kept calling them out. It had very plausible reason to lose that fight.

Alain, however, is a rival-turning-villain. He doesn't lose until the final act. Ash losing gives him motivation to chase down Alain and beat him.

They already implied Alain's losing because he always won against Ash, and even with no control the second battle had Charizard getting pushed back until Ash got the stroke. Not to mention the title's using "victory" so it's most likely Ash's win, especially how they have Greninja launching the giant red shuriken.

Alan's in it for power right now. He'll have his awakening/friendship speech during the Zygarde shit, defect to Ash, and have a Mega showdown with Lysandre's mega sharknado. Then, Ash and Alan will have a post-happening pure heart bullshit friendship battle, which Ash will win, Alan saying he needs to reflect and learn more about Pokemon or some shit, and go back to the lab with Platane/his waifu.

This shit isn't hard to read. It's a children's show.

It could, but a lot of things are implying Ash's winning besides the title.
