Tangela doesn't have much, but at least it has the EV thing, and being useful in Little Cup.

Gen 2 got fucked hard because it was out around the end of the fad. It's remembered as the acceptable sequel by the Geewunners, but very few of its Pokemon are really remembered by people.

It's my favorite in the entire series and even I admit I struggle remember all of it's Pokemon.

Those games were more about the journey than the catching.

I've heard that Jesse got a Yanmega in the anime so maybe Yanma is less forgettable to Sinnohfetuses but that's definitely not the case for genwunners or Johtoddlers.

You did not play gen1, Sinnohsperm.

Tauros being rare as fuck was the reason everybody knew about him, and one of the reasons people wasted so much money on Safari zone. It's also infamous for magically appearing at Oaks lab in the anime since the episode where Ash caught it wasn't aired. And of course it was one of the most used pokemon in the RBY metagame.

Sure Kingdra was a nasty surprise when we fought Claire for it being only weak to dragon and having a lot of resistances, but I don't know, a lot of pre-evos especially 2nd evos, tend to be left in the dust if the last one is really significant, imo.

I played RBY plenty. I never really got a Farfetch'd unless I was trying to catch 'em all. Fly wasn't needed much, so I could just keep a pidgey around and teach it Fly, and keep that in the box until I needed it. Cut I usually taught to a random grass type.

What made Farfetch'd memorable was that it was an extremely early in-game trade, using a Pokemon you were almost certain to have. Hearing the name was surprising, since it wasn't a Pokemon you had prior. I still think of it as "DUX" because of that.

The problem with Gen2 was that so many of them were post-Johto when most people already had teams together AND most wild pokemon in Nu-Kanto were severely underleveled in a game where it was already a pain in the ass to grind up new pokemon.
