>>27772055I mean, if you want to count people who have been around since 2012 as "originalfags", technically I fall under that too, except I was on anon and wasn't active between most of 2013 and 2014. You now see how meaningless of a title this is.
(Note that this is not actually at the person this post is replying to, but to the general comments made in this thread.)
Complaining as an ex-contributor that "Sage is just a bunch of circle jerking people who would rather sit around and do nothing than get the game out" is not only wrong, it's just straight up detrimental to the project. You can't blame the people who actually stuck around and are trying to move the progress train further down the tracks for not getting it done in a completely abstract "timely manner" to be decided by whoever is doing the complaining.
It took two years and some change to make a dex (not the stats, entries, abilities, etc, just the dex), a regional map, a general idea of what the game is about, a cast of characters and some scattered assets. In less than that time, almost one third of the game has been developed and implemented.
It's easy to say that "Sage isn't being worked on" or "Sage is dead" or "Sage devs are lazy and stole it from /vp/" when you're not the one in the chats, trying to take the ideas of dozens of people and make a game. Our artists and programmers work their butts off, and there are people every day mapping, writing dialogue, discussing plot and working on game balance. It's not a dead project, and it's a lot better off where it is. There are people who are passionate about this game, working on it every day as a labor of love, even though most of the people working on it have active, engaging lives and could be spending their time doing something else. Lamenting on the "good ol' days" of when Sage was sitting stagnant on this board after its initial burst of development does no one any good, and is an insult to the work people are still putting into it.
