Also, multiplayer in pokemon is like, super pushed. They want you to play and battle with friends. Main game has always been easy, but it's a shit game for playing against other people if you're into that
Also, if you're arguing about just going through the main game, gen 1 is like... the most vanilla pokemon game ever. Every other game has more interesting stuff to do than gen 1. While it's perfectly playable as a pokemon game, it's also the least interesting to play. I play it once in a blue moon because I grew up on that shit, but even I can recognize that other games have more shit to do, and games with more shit to do are more fun.
GSC is more fun than RBY because: You can do Johto and Kanto! There's way more to do! More pokemon to catch!
RSE is more fun than RBY because: Battle Frontier! Contests! Better story! More pokemon to catch! Abilities make training pokemon more interesting and fun! Secret Bases!
DPPt is more fun than RBY because: Battle Frontier! Contests! Battlezone! Way better story! More pokemon to catch!
BW/2 is more fun than RBY because: PWT! Better story! Pokestar Studios! Black City/White Forest for post game! Dream World!
What does RBY have that later games don't have? What does RBY do better than later games? The game has just been constantly improved upon.
Pokemon Amie is the largest amount of content that they've added that's the least interesting to play. Interactions with your pokemon are super surface level (just petting) and the mini games are boring. People don't play pokemon to play rhythm/reaction mini-games. All of the things I mentioned above are more interesting content additions than Amie.
