Thrash is Normal type.
If Primape was introduced now, he would probably be Normal/Fighting, since he's not really a martial artist like the rest of pure Fighting types. He's just a strong and angry ape.

My bad, went to check Primeape's levelset on Bulbapedo and Punishment is right under Thrash.

Normal/Fighting might be more likely if he were released today, but within the context of Gen 2, I never understood why he wasn't retyped. I find it hard to believe not a single one of the first 151 warranted a Dark typing.

Slugma as well.
Although most players never saw a Slugma until RSE, so some might even consider it a Hoennmon. Same for Skarmory, but Skarmory was a version exclusive which made it tougher to find in the first place.

Alolamon are Forms added in Gen 7, so they are Gen 7. Hypothetical remake "Sinnoh Forms" would also be Gen 7, not whatever Gen they come from.
