In Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire's Delta Episode, it's speculated that there are multiple universes/timelines - most notably, one with mega evolutions (Gen 6) and one without (1-5, though some people theorize that 1-2 and 3-5 may be their own as well). At the moment, it seems as if Alola will not have Mega Evolutions.

Assuming this theory is true (and for the sake of a fun speculation thread let's say it is), what IS the state of Kalos in universes without mega evolutions? A large portion of the history and also the geography revolve around the existence of megas, so how different is it in these universes? Does it even exist?
