I use nothing but Gen 1 and 2 Pokemon, no matter what the game. While I enjoy the updated graphics, battle mechanics, extras etc. of the new games, I don't like any of the new Pokemon.

Obviously, I skipped B/W. Hoenn was a pain in the ass, too, I broke down in Emerald and got a Zigzagoon.

I give certain Pokemon 'plot armor' so that they don't die when they're killed. I purposely sacrifice my starter when it evolves to it's second stage though.

I visualize each battle in game as if it were in the Anime. Sometimes, I even tell them what to do as if they can hear me.

Whenever I finish a nuzlocke, I put on Sound of Silence while I release the Pokemon individually. Then, I transfer the team I won with to Gen 6 and max their affectection in Amie. They can live happily and peacefully.
My Crystal Nuzlocke team is trapped forever, though.

Opposite to 99% of people, I love to give nicknames. I have an excel spreadsheet with every Pokemon listed and a column for potential nickname so that I can keep track of them. Even if I hate the Pokemon, if I own/catch/carry it I have to name it, like the Bidoof I called "HM 00" and kept boxed as much as possible.

4 or 5 years ago i was convinced that both Ruby or Sapphire and Emerald happened, that Emerald happened the year after R/S
My reasoning was that Steven had quit as champion in Emerald, and i thought the MCs's artwork looked a bit older than in RS.
I think i had more to back it up with, but it was probably just shit

the thing is, i actually managed to convince one guy on here before someone bothered to take the time to explain why my reasoning was flawed

I arrange all of my Pokémon in the PC by dex number. The boxes are also separated by region (Kanto 1, Kanto 2, Kanto 3, Johto 1 etc). I actually attempted to do this in gen 1 as well before giving up because it was ridiculous.

My own set rules for a new gen
>Only use new pokemon
>You can only have 2 type overlaps
>You must leave 2 slots in your party for pokemon you will use that haven't been revealed yet
>Catch all mons you see in a new route for dex filling
>no autism reseting for right genders

Things I normally do not bound by rules
-Nickname everything you catch on the off chance you might use it

>nickname party members old dying out names like Agetha, Agnes, Abraham, Theodore, Garry ect

I'm a pokemon purityfag. I never breed pokemon for use in-game. My partners in battle are the exact individuals I encountered in the wild, beat respect into, then extended the hand of friendship to. I also never teach them Attract. Because I don't want them slutting around.

I used to soft reset for natures for in game team but I don't want to for Sun and Moon. I want to just play it like a dumb 6 year old who just got their first Pokemon game and learn everything from the people I talk to.

I have balltism, but so far it's been in the "Pokeballs Only" way. I'd love to put each of my new Pokemon in Sun and Moon in a different Pokeball asked on what fits them best, but I feel like it's not possible for your story team.

Maybe Sun and Moon will finally let you change the type of ball your Pokemon was caught in afterwards.

I always pick cyndaquil as my starter (even if I dislike the pokemon) because one of my childhood friends who introduced me to the PMD serie picks him in every single PMD game where it's available. That guy doesnt play pokemon games in general, just mystery dungeon games.

Also I always answer truthfully to the quizz at the beginning of the game and get whatever the game gives me.

I always name my rival Alex because when I was like 10, a guy at summer camp was named Alex and he would always beat me in pokemon battles.

Not always, but I like to do this. Especially gen 1, because he's actually your rival and even though you've both had a long journey with many decisions, possibly mistakes, it all comes down to your first choice and proving that even though you're supposedly at a disadvantage, you're stronger.

I catch and nickname every pokemon, with nicknames from fictional characters from comics or movies etc. Then I organize them into boxes based on the source of the nickname and then into teams within those boxes based.
I only recently got used to the idea of naming things later, I used to have to stop playing till I had a good nickname.

Jolteon is Jubilee. I used to be have a male Jolteon named Billy Batson, but I gave that name to some new electric pokemon which I can't remember.

I suck at drawing, but I always draw pictures of the team early on and then one picture at the end. Sometimes I also like to pretend there's anime teir drama where one pokemon "runs away" for one gym battle so I cant use it until the plot line is resolved next gym.

After your one-year voucher ends, you have a 30-day grace period to buy a new one and retain your bank slots.
If you don't purchase a new one, then after the 30 days are up they're all deleted. It's just data taking up space on their bank servers. If nobody is paying to keep the data, then they're just wasting space with it that could be used for another paying customer.

Yes. You get a grace period after your time runs out where you can only pull pokemon from bank and not store, but if you wait too long they just dump the whole account.

I absolutely LOVE the idea of Pokemon Bank, but being unable to access it from within a game is a bit of a pain, and the fact that I can't just keep a rolling, auto-charging subscription makes it really scary to use.

Awhile back I remember someone posting about how they had old mythicals in the bank, and got sent to prison for two years. Their bank got scrapped since they couldn't renew the subcription.
It won't happen to 99% of PokeBank users, but it will happen to someone. Maybe they get in a car crash, or get shot in the head, and wind up in a coma for half a year.
Rebuilding a Living Dex, whether or not you follow additional, personal, arbitrary rules would be a pain in the ass. Especially if 20 IQ points got blown out of your skull.

I'm not mentally defective by most standards, but I am lazy and forgetful when it comes to things I don't necessarily NEED to do. I already let my Bank close out and get dumped once in the past (luckily nothing important lost). When you're trying to support a family that kind of shit can easily fall under the radar for 30+ days.... I just wish it had auto-pay so I could keep it forever.

Only use Pokemon that originated or have a new evolution in the region I'm in. For example, I could use Porygon in Kanto, Johto or Sinnoh, but Swellow is only usable in Hoenn. I broke this rule in White 2 only.

I have an entire gay anime-esque story that runs through the games written down somewhere. It runs through the order of the gens, except gen 3 happens first and ORAS happens after XY because of some class reunion for the MCs taking place at the Pokemon School in Rustboro where the MCs met.

I always use the team as the male player. For instance, in Unova, the starters were all to and before he had a chance, so I didn't use a starter on my team. Instead, his/my starter was a Blitzle.

Every main character has a Pokemon not used by any other main character. No one else uses a Zebstrika besides the male player.

The male players are all the same guy. Serena is a different girl while all the other girls are the same person. Barry first appears in Hoenn, inspired by Emerald from the manga. When he comes back for the class reunion, he's essentially Aarune, and he brings Krys, who is now essentially Lissia.

Zinnia and Bianca were best friends in Kanto and traveled with the players and the rival. Zinnia shows up in Sinnoh and then ORAS Hoenn and Bianca in both arcs of Unova.

There's a lot more to it but I'm beginning to embarrass myself.

I keep my SS game as my relaxing game. It's never been in contact with any of my other games. Never traded with anyone, never transfered pokemon to it or transfer from it. Whenever I want to relax I play it, breed, catch a few pokemons, talk to people, travel to places just to see them, call people, battle a few trainers. It's a comfy as fuck game.
