Although seriously, it's the fact it has gemstones on its body and, particularly in Weavile, it's large, crown-like headdress just screams nobility to me. Like Murkrow it doesn't have a particular role in the team other than I just felt like it suited the overall motif.
The fact I'd never used one before was an influence too. It's why I didn't use Pokemon like Chandelure or Aegislash on the team when they could conceivably fit, or why I didn't use Mightyena/Liepard over Furfrou despite them also being Dark types, because I've used them before.
