>>27815371Large national PokeDex with very good distribution, balance and biome adherence. There are very few Pokemon you'd find in areas that just don't make sense. Gives ease of access to Pokemon that were previously difficult to get without trading up from older games or needing friends.
Slowly builds on the plot of the previous game and has an otherwise satisfactory conclusion. It's the only story in Pokemon that really feels like a story rather than just roadblocks to the next gym.
Good level pacing and despite going in a literal circle the routes in Isshu/Unova aren't complete cancer. They have a few little beats of the path that aren't a chore to walk through and there's a fair bit to explore without an over reliance on HMs. BW2 also literally has the most content of any Pokemon game to date regardless of whether all of the content appeals to you or not because that'd be completely subjective anyway, I doubt I'd convince anyone otherwise.
Gyms are fairly creative in their puzzles and have memorable and very distinct aesthetics to each of them. Burghs Gym is still by far my favorite and his custom gym theme is one of my favorite themes altogether.
Despite challenge mode's pisspoor implementation it was a good addition to the base game. Having started with Gen 1 I'll be the first and last to say that Pokemon has always been babby's first rpg, now it can be babby's first rpg and actually teach children a bit about type coverage. The game also continued an upward trend in streamlining the games into tailoring the player for the competitive experience. Something I personally didn't give a shit about because raising Pokemon to fight in a competitive meta-game was a chore.
I personally find the soundtrack to be amazingly done and Go Ichinose did a great job on the tracks he composed for it.
I won't contest anyone if they don't like BW2 because I can't imagine giving a shit about these kinda things anymore but I'd gladly tell you why I like the things I like.
