Dragons have a different significance in Japan- they usually represent leadership and power. I assume the dragon typing means that its the "king" of the forest

sudowoodo isn't petrified wood, it's a literal rock pretending to be a tree

also the dragonfly pun only works in English, they only use dragon puns in Japanese unless the name itself is the same in theirs (like the constellation stuff for Altaria)

Ampharos is because of a pun in the Japanese name for Electrical Current (and Ampharos's Japanese name) being Denryuu.
Ryu means dragon.

Why is a group of eggs grass type? Why is it psychic type? Why does it grow into a tree? Why is a group of 6 eggs a single pokemon? Why donot exeggutes come in different sized groups? Why does the pokedex say exeggutes fall off of exeggutors when they actually hatch from eggs? Are there 6 eggs in that one egg? Why do eggs grow into a tree?

a more obscure one is Altaria, Japanese name is Tyltalis which referencing Tyl (from Blue Bird of Happiness, hence it being blue and a rare cloud bird) and itself being a major star in Draco constellation (Altaria itself is a star in Draco constellation but misses out why it is blue and why it makes people happy as per dex info)
