Next week I'm going to buy this game, what should I expect?

I only want X/Y specific info, I currently own Alpha Sapphire and have at least an idea of how "bad" is Gen VI (aka Post-Game is Battle Tower-clone and shitty sidequest)

Just take it slow. EXP Share makes the game ridiculously easy. There's no post-game, as you know (apart from the Looker missions, which you can bang out in an hour or two.) Training is super easy, with breeding and stuff being very player-friendly. Kalos is a nice region. Pokemon are nice. Support characters suck. Trainer Customization is limited.

Play it in French, otherwise you won't be able to fully enjoy the game.

Is that I wanted to know why is this game so hated. I know the "friends" are a huge stepback from Cheren and Bianca from B/W but in a playthrough I saw today in Santalune Forest I liked how they moved independently with you instead of following you. I liked that.

X and Y are good games. They're around the quality of Pokemon games before their third version/sequal, but I think they're the best in that regard.

Not much in the way of a post-game, yet i still managed to put over 600 hours in X because of online multiplayer being the best it's ever been in Pokemon. If you're not interested in multiplayer, you won't get much after beating the game.

Don't use the exp share unless youre ok with the game becoming easy. Without it, they're about as hard as your typical Pokemon game.

This item looks interesting, is it that hard to use like most people say? I know that it appears automatically when you use the Analog Stick.

It's not hard to use at all, the problem is that you have to use them if you want to use the circle pad on the overworld. It's the most pointless gimmick since Unown.

Pick Chespin and be amazed at its movepool. If you want to do a solo run you can, just Hawlucha fights are going to be tough because they are fast and Flying Press is a pretty good move

Now a last question:

Are mounts any interesting? I know they are restricted to their locations (Route 8 or 9, Route 12, Route 17 and Lumiose City)

No, mounts might be fun for the first 10 seconds but then you realize they're just padding and don't add anything interesting to the game. They're like a glorified HM. Here's hoping a future game will let you use any Pokemon you want as a mount (within reason of course) and anywhere. Gen 8 maybe?

I know it is pretty frail and Flying Press is dual-typed with a bad type combination, and it has a passable Base Power.

Better use Brick Break or other Fighting-type move.

I'm playing it for the first time, dex is varied but rampant with absolute Shitmons, Flare use PSN, Dark types and Manectric only for the most part. And fighting type trainers are much harder than any gym leader

Exp share makes the game depressingly easy.
An interesting and fun way to play would be to use a team of your favorite shitmons. That way the game won't be as boring and you still won't feel like you're gimping yourself too much.
You can easily trade your favorite pokemons from Alpha Saphire with the GTS.
