The Lumiose Conference doesn't even exist as a concept in the games
Where in the video games is it necessary to compete in a national tournament with other players who won eight badges for the right to even challenge the Elite Four? Regional Conferences have always been an anime-only invention and I don't understand people shitting on Ash for losing them when none of his counterparts or people playing the video games have even taken a crack at the same thing.

He didn't use Ash-Greninja until Wulfric, and even triumphed over Korrina's Mega Lucario without any Mega. The only other person shown beating her is Alan, who used a Mega Charizard that could hang with Primal Groudon and Kyogre.
