Hello 4channers I just got into Pokemon after Pokemon GO and I was wondering what game should I get first and what Pokemons to catch?

Play Platinum, Heart Gold/Soul Silver or Black/White first.
Emulate if you want to make sure you're going to enjoy the series before spending money.

If you enjoyed those play Emerald, Black2/White2 and then X/Y.

Buy a 3DS to play the games, if you really enjoyed them and want to play an older game like emerald or firered/leafgreen pick up a DSlite on eBay for cheap.

One question:

I have never owned a Pokemon game on my own but my friends always played it and let me sometimes too. There were some cool features like Exp. Share and TM's. Are these still in the game? They make it so much easier!

B/W are awesome but I wouldn't recomend them if youre getting into the franchise because theyre so different from the rest. I personally started with emerald so either gen 3 or gen 4 HG/SS
