Just train that spider to have its Attack minimized and Speed/Special Attack maxed.

I like to use the bugger as an opening act for a Spider Web set up before letting it stick around to see just how much damage it can do before fainting. Compound Eyes + Thunder and Bug Buzz is pretty good.

Aside from it not being a Fairy type initially for whatever reason, its stats just aren't up to par.

People think pokémon with high HP give out high EXP, but in reality EXP yield is just a hidden stat for every pokémon.

It should have had 133 HP if not higher. It's way below where it should be to fill the niche it was meant to.

Galvantula was during an age where 100 speed was considered the benchmark.
So was Garchomp with his troll 102 speed.

Power creeping is a thing unfortunately, especially blatant with speed tiers nowadays seen.

A sash actually matters maybe two in five times. Also the second Galvantula springs on the scene, it gets ganged up because any non-inattentive foe can just smell that Sticky Web raring to come on out.

Plenty of things make great use of Sash you idiot, Fake Out doesn't help if you Protect, or if you spring Gant on a Pokemon who's already used it.

Durant, Diancie, Lati@s, Gengar, Raichu, Azelf, Starmie, Greninja, and Weavile are all viable and common Pokemon that outspeed Galvantula and the majority of them have the offensive options to shut it down either singlehandedly or in conjunction with an ally.

Sticky Web and Thunder Wave; there's a toss-up to be made about whether Sticky Web will be worth it against a given team. If they have lots of Flying-types or levitators, and ESPECIALLY if they have something Defiant, it's better to opt for paralyzing as many things as possible instead.
Thunder for main STAB.
Struggle Bug for secondary STAB and to fuck with special attackers, buying allies a bit more bulk
