To put that into Perspective, Pic Related was a poll that was literally always won by Rare and/or Legendary pokemon. Greninja is literally so popular in Japan that they STILL voted for it even though everyone and their mother has a Greninja if they've Wondertraded at least once. Lucario never topped the poll in any of its iterations and didn't even break top 10 in this specific one.
Charizard is consistently the winner of the biggest, most important popularity polls here in the west.
Lucario is liked by Sonic fans and his porn output exceeds that of fucking GARDEVOIR, marking him as the furfag choice of the series.
So yes... Lucario is LITERALLY Gamefreak's lightning.
