But seriously, I've seen some actual pokemon designs in the games that, when you think about them more thoroughly, are a thousand times worse than whatever Pinnister is trying to be. Metagross when you think about it, he's a giant steel arachnid-like creature, its mouth is in its stomach and actually crushes prey then eats them according to dex entry. Fuck, a bit hardcore, don't you think? Several pokemon in the franchise are definitely more than meets the eyes. And Gorebyss? My god. I'm simply scratching the surface here. It's a kids' franchise, but that doesn't mean it's completely child friendly in a way, many pokemon entries are quite morbid in their own way. Of course, most of these are usually skimmed through and only few pay attention to them and of course, people interpret things in their own way.
That anon, however, was more talking about Mega Huntshoot since that's the only one with red eyes, which I can argue to look scary in its own right, it's trying to take inspiration from Mothman. When he's normal though, he just has this green tint in his eyes that resemble night vision though and when you take its hood, he actually looks a lot like a Rowlett with a barn owl face, kind of dorkish.
The jaguar's just a jaguar. People like to call it edgy, but it's just a jaguar who happens to be based upon the concept of a cannon.
