Well in the anime. The last fucking 3 games have been all about the nostalgia bait, but there's a disconnect between the game makers and the anime makers.
The game makers don't really like the anime to be honest. Someone asked why smash bros Pokemon trainer wasn't based on anime Ash and they rather angrily said that the two have nothing to do with each other.
They barely advertised OR and AS in the anime at all and it still sold amazingly. Quite frankly they don't need the anime, and if the ratings fall a bit more they might just can it all together.
I hope they do. Time for this shitshow to end.
