>>27876354The problem is that Lilligant outclasses it as a special attacker, and Vileplume is a better bulky attacker by virtue of having only 5 points less Def and 10 points less SpD, while having the same HP and Spe and 20 more SpA. Worse, all three of them have Clorophyll, and Lilligant deserves almost any move Bellossom gets. And if it were just made to be a bulky tank, then Meganium exists - worse, so does Mega Venusaur. It would need some serious boosts to stand out - at the very least Dancer, Fairy-type, Quiver Dance, and a great deal more speed; with all those, it may as well be a mega. The problem is, there's STILL nobody who would use it, unless they took the Mega Beedrill route and minmaxed it all to hell. Now, that's not impossible, but sadly that's really what it would take to make it a strong, viable Pokemon what don't need no Trainer.
However, that's it if it's a solo operator. If it were built for doubles, maybe it'd have a chance. Dancer could copy buffs, and if you gave it 10 more Atk, it could use Dragon Dance and Swords Dance just as well as Quiver Dance. All it would need is a few more tutor moves - Knock Off and Play Rough would do it, and it already gets Drain Punch by tutor - and it's got a good physical set. Admittedly, to be viable at all, it'd need at least 20 more Spe to get a reasonable buff from any speed-boosting Dance, but partnered with a support Talonflame or Crobat to use Tailwind and Swords Dance, it could put in some serious work. If you wanted to go mono-Grass, Tropius gets Dragon Dance and Tailwind both; if you were going competitive, Skarmory does share a Fire weakness, but gets Tailwind and Swords Dance (and gets to set up spikes and suchlike to boot). Gligar/Gliscor does the same, and doesn't share the weakness. On the special side, being partnered with a Volcarona spamming Firey Dance would do wonders, especially if they both got a turn to set up; Bellossom uses Sunny Day, Volcarona uses Quiver Dance? Beautiful.
