What was that stupid shit you did when you first played pokemon?

I remember that in my first run of Red my three main pokemon were Venusaur, Pidgeot and Vileplume. I don't remember why I used them so much and how I managed to win the League. They were probably overleveld.

In Yellow I used Pikachu 99% of times, and I was anally ravaged when I had to face Giovanni. I remember that I had to level Venusaur and spent an insane amount of time in that.
