the worst part is at this point it doesn't even make sense to keep him as he is so children can relate to/identify as him, since he's been around long enough to be an established character, and making him lose every time kinda goes against that as well since one of the main goals of the games is beating the league and since unless you absolutely suck almost any team can lead you to victory in the games.
so all in all japs are retarded and their refusal to let go of old tropes, traditions and stereotypes is killing an anime and alienating the very fans they claim to do it for.
