Why didn't GameFreak make different forms of Mimiky? For example they could've made a different form for all the gen 1 starters and all the 4 different forms would have different typings and movesets.

They wanted to force Pikachu down our throats even more.

Mimikyu could've disguised itself as "popular pokemon in Alola" or "beloved pokemon" and the meaning of its costume would've been the same. It didn't have to be just Pikachu.

The point of Mimikku is that it took on the mask because it wanted to feel loved like Pikachu.

Are you saying Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle aren't loved too? They'd be viable options. Actually, it's even more believable that the Mimikkyu species would cover themselves as multiple different Pokemon instead of every single pokemon of that species disguising itself as Pikachu.

It can't be one of the original starters because then the question is "why not the other two" and it can't be all three because then the question is "why not literally any pokemon"

Pikachu is one of the most famous mascots in existence. Anything else would be a retarded choice for the concept.
