Fuck me in the Ozarks, I have a new pokemon anime pitch.

Gary goes to Alola. Gary is basically following in Oak's footsteps now, and Alola is crawling with things like 30 foot tall Exegutor, and Grandpa dragons and shit. Gary goes to Alola to do research, meets up with Chicken-Chan, who wants to be a trainer, and our protagonist is basically the Brock of the group who catches things and researches them.

Actually anything is more interesting than gym badges collecting, because we had 18 years of anime riding on that storyline. Video game broke the tradition, maybe anime will do the same.
