I'm sure there will be some post game quest that unlocks mega stones. The mega symbol will simply replace the Z move button if your Pokemon has a mega stone. They probably won't add any new Megas though.

A Pokemon cannot do both (unless you're Mega Fug, but maybe they will retcon that shit). Ergo, one huge-ass button is enough. It simply shows a Z-move or Mega based on what item your Pokemon is holding.

Double battle. Give any mega evo poke a z crystal. Use z move. Item swap the megastone onto the poke after it z moves, now it can mega.
Possible breaking, so here:
Trainer has to choose to wear the z bracelet thing or the mega ring, nor both. That way you cant do both in same battle even with using z move with 1 poke then switching and mega evoing a different one
