the only reason i can think is as a fail safe if somehow mega X was complete garbage they could rebuff weather and make mega Z good for weather wars part 2.

Not a flaw but a question: wasn't Charizard X's stone created in a lab while Charizard Y is the natural one? I heard this was suggested in Origins. I guess that explains why X is black and Y sticks to the color palette. No flaws, though.
