The pokemon in S/M of first gen will have many alolan versions which mean you can't get the original forms like vulpix and sandshrew. So the R/B/Y games allows transferring to S/M for those older fans that appreciate having the original versions of there favorite Pokemon. It may also unlock some item or some rewarded status if u present a Pokemon from the original game. Nothing major just little things that few gamers will get a kick out of is all

They left all glitches in to the eShop R/B/Y so there will be an endless amount of Mew. Otherwise I don't know. You can basically get any type of pokemon in 1st gen to level 100 through glitching though, so basically legal pokegen for 1st gen mons only. Also you won't be able to decide abilities or moves or whatever so it'll be really ghetto, otherwise not really much.

Mew is the biggest thing.

I once tried transferring a missingno from my pokemon Red to Pokemon Stadium using a transfer pac in my n64 controller. It worked but not in the way I was expecting.

Instead of missingno on stadium, I got a level 100 snorlax. Yeah, I don't know.

When I tried using Missingno from Blue in Stadium it showed up as ???? data with a Substitute/Rhydon doll as the model.

Side note - Butterfree, Jigglypuff, Clefairy, Venomoth, Arcanine, Magnemite, Shellder, Voltorb, Electabuzz, Magmar, and Porygon can all learn Teleport from the TM (and all the psychics in Gen 1 I believe)

Transferring MissingNo resulting in some kind of glitch-themed Pokemon would be really cool. Sure Porygon-Z kind of already is a "glitchy" Pokemon but it's more themes after virus-infected software than anything else. I want to see a visually glitchy Pokemon with an attack or ability to match

Need a poke with 149 speed stat. Do the first part of the mew stat where you fly away from that trainer northwest of Cerulean. Then find a ditto to transform into the pokemon that has the 149 speed. Then walk up the bridge where you'd normally find mew.

Would be a worse Giga Impact, granted I doubt Kanga even learns that. Basically you're better off with Return or something, I don't know what these 6th gen pokes run nowadays.

Mostly novelty, and some really niche stuff. Maybe some weird egg moves too?

There are a lot of moves that gen 1 could only learn back then, and if you evolve them then you can get new pokemon with semi-exclusive moves.

Here are my favorites:

Don't listen to him. It's literally the same shit but with simpler mechanics. No abilities, no Nature, no held items, Sp. Atk and Sp. Def share a single Special stat, IVs only go up to 15 instead of 31, and you can essentially do the equivalent of 255 EVs in all stats with Stat EXP. If anything, Gen III onward complicated the fuck out of Pokémon, but that's honestly a good thing.

Not him, but limited item space, having to make sure your Pokemon storage boxes aren't completely full and you have them switched out or else a caught pokemon won't be admitted, no running shoes, the terrible, terrible move selection for each pokemon. Those are all common complaints. But I still had a fun time.

No shit. Stockpiling all 50 TMs takes up all 50 of your PC slots, nerd. That forces you to carry around all your useless key items, not leaving much room for much else. But you're right, limited item space isn't an issue at all otherwise.
