Wtf in the world is up with this team? There is little to no way in the world that the team could take champion. Like at all. Excluding the possibility of being massively over leveled. I just can't see it. Someone enlighten me or confirm. I'm Not crazy lol

Dodrio is fucking bananas in Gen I, is a frailer Tauros with a secondary STAB. Persian is on the same boat that Dodrio, but trade that "secondary STAB" for "Slash". Scyther was good, but held back for the lack of a STAB. Jolteon is outclassed by Zapdos only as a Electric Pokémon. Lapras and Charizard are self explanatory.

There's no way this team is good for poke champ. Mediocre at best. Only 3 on the team. I would have at all. Jolteon, lapras, and charizard. Persian? Wtf hell no. Dodrio? Jolteon can easily Outspeed and gets its chances to paralyze it.
Scyther and Persian could endure at least one Psychic and rape it with Slash (Scyther following up with a Quick Attack). Lapras could tank easily and Body Slam it to oblivion.

in Yellow Lance's dragonite has thunder and one of his dragonairs has thunderbolt.

Blue has either a Jolteon or Magneton in Yellow as well.

Not broken per se, it was the best offensive Pokémon all-around.
It lacked the brute force of Rhydon, Dragonite and the like, it lacked the blinding speed of Jolteon, Aerodactyl or Alakazam. It wasn't that bulkier.

But it was good enough in everything.
It was like a Jack-of-all-trades, but being actually good instead of falling short at everything.

the best team would be starting with the charmander, getting a vaporeon and if you really really really want and useless electric typo you catch a pikachu early in veridian forest and evolve it into a raichu

I am re-playing my blu version right now on the VC.
So far I have charizard, pikachu and weepinbell. And about to get vaporeon.
I think I will also get Tauros.
What mons would you recomend anon? I would get poliwrath too to have a similar team to the one I had when I first played blue as a kid.

I replayed Blue a couple of months ago on my 3DS and I beat the game with

Blastoise
Lickitung
Parasect
Dugtrio
Flareon

My highest levelled pokemon was Blastoise at like level 52, everyone else was in the 40s. I didn't even use a sixth guy. The game is easy as fuck as an adult. Somehow my Parasect didn't die to Blue's Pidgeots Wing Attack despite being like 20 levels lower and it doing x4 damage.

Pidgeot was extremely outclass by fearow due to inferior speed at that time and the lack of drill peck.

Pidgeot sucks back then and was plainly unusable now it still shit but at least it gets Brave bird and is faster than Fearow.

In game trainers have no stat experience/effort values. Trainers have a inflated levels in gen 1 to compensate since no stat.exp to say half full stat.exp is a big difference.
