>>27982565It's a simple fix alright. But it's not easy to come up with a name. That's why the mortal kombat people had to call Sindel "La Muchacha" until they came up with her actual name. It's a placeholder. But once a good name is decided on, it's simply a matter of adding it to the script and such.
When I watched that DVD, they said they really liked Sindel's design but had the hardest time coming up with a name. Like I said, I don't think all video game designers go through this, but I think it's plausible that it happens every now and then. It could be that these designs haven't been named yet. They didn't want to slap just any name on it before making a final decision, so they put placeholders instead.
Besides, when animating a character, the name isn't so relevant. But anatomical information and personality traits are very much so, because that's what the animators will be drawing.
Coming with a name may not take as long of a time as creating and deciding on a design, but I can see why they would use placeholders. Maybe they're still trying to come up with a name that sounds good and fits the character. I mean, if you knew you could only go with one name and it could never change, I'm sure you would take time to consider many potential names to find the right one.
