The plots try to stay true to the games on a basic level but add tons of things to flesh things out. The first couple gens almost completely rewrite the plot, but from then on they start following the games' more closely since the games themselves started to become a little more plot-focused.
The stories are generally satisfying but can feel clunky and forced at points since the author tries to incorporate absolutely every little thing from the games even when they end up bloating things out unnecessarily. Still, it's an appreciable effort.
Overall, it's a fun romp.
