You have no idea how many times I had to rewrite this tier list too, they're all pretty great for the most part, aside from the universally shitty Palace.

Back when Emerald came out, no one around me played pokemon. The Battle Frontier basically gave me the competitive experience without me ever having to find someone to play against. Plus the rules were interesting, meaning that for a certain facility, you had to go in with a completely diffferent mindset. Particularly the Pike and Pyramid, where you don't get ANY heals between battles, and might run into wild pokemon designed to fuck you over.

Because Platinum is a different game than Alpha Ruby and it's not a repeat of the same exact story, battles, dialogue, etc. etc.

Battle Pyramid was the best. Fighting your way through a maze with wild pokemon and enemy trainers everywhere, and managing supplies. It's one of my favorites by a long shot.

EV Training had a worthwhile goal and I was able to put the training to good use with online battles. Unlike you, restarting the game and replaying the same exact thing over again with no goal in mind.

It is literally the same facility.

Different Trainers, having to employ different strategies. Working towards the goal of getting to the Brain. And the Battle Factory is FAR from repetitive. It's what makes Roguelike games fun as well.

Let me use a simple analogy for comparing "Replaying the same game" to "EV Training."

You replay the same exact game to fight the same exact predicable Champion as a source of fun.

You EV Train your Pokemon to fight another human being in a competitive scenario which can have numerous possibilities to have fun.

Point to the statement where it said "EV Training is fun." You're just implying things.

I'm pretty sure the argument meant that Competitive Battling has more possibilities for enjoyment than playing the normal game. But you're trying to derail it by nitpicking the process of getting to the actual "fun."

Getting the gold symbols in the BF takes some time. And don't expect to walk into a facility and expect the same thing every time. Personally having some degree of challenge is more fun than having a really easy game.

I like the challenge as well, but fuck, go to that pyramid again and again is boring in my opinion.
I couldn't play again after I beat it once.
And pokemon games aren't perfect. No game is.
Every game makes you got bored after a while.
But if I had to choose between a pokemon adventure or just the BF, I would choose the adventure. If I wanna battles, I go to stadium or showdown.
