I don't honestly remember the original fad. I'm 20 so I was literally born the same year the games came out. That means my experiences with the fad were very limited, essentially just owning merchandise and watching the anime with my older siblings who collected cards. By the time I entered school the fad had died and I didn't get into the games until the resurgence (aka gen 4). I keep on seeing Pokemon Go freaking everywhere nowadays. Even my mom and grandparents know of it. Hell, I saw it on a freaking Spanish court show a few weeks ago. I don't know anything about Go besides how big it is. I haven't seen a game this popular since Minecraft.
