I'm Canadian and I think it'd be boring as fuck, man. Unless they went really crazy and made every poke centre a hybrid timmies where they sell donut healing items and shit like that, and smelly québécois separatists are the evil team, idk, I'm not sure how well it would be. I can see why the Japanese are into Hawaii, and it's researched the hell into for gen 7, but I dot know if they'd put that effort into Canada, and the region in game would need to be hella diverse to be interesting.

They should include a lake with disgusting fish a la Lake Ontario. My friend caught a fish once and ate it, he literally died the next day. I mean he was hit by a car but still died.

Nah man. Once the oil runs out Alberta is going to have to figure out something else to do to generate their economy. It's going to be a shit fest.

Instead of investing in oil production for a short-term profit (of a few years), Canada should be focusing on long-term solutions that may slow down the economy, but be better for the country later on. The areas where the oil is extracted are literally shit holes and the people that live there has horrible lives. I wouldn't wish that shit on anybody.

Check out your local reserves where the aboriginal people live and tell me it isn't depressing to just drive through those areas.

I live in alberta and me and my roommate were writing concepts for an alberta region where the 3 starters are fossils (water is a tiktalek, fire is a Eohippus and the grass is a stegosaurus) and there's 2 evil teams based on the Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers. They both are trying to extract oil and awaken a Albertosaurus or a Bison ghost legendary depending on the version

I'm from a really small town so I made Calgary and Edmonton really big and then other small towns scattered around Alberta somewhat important and bigger than they really are. There would be a lot of farms in between places though, they'd have mini gyms like the dojo in R/B/Y

I don't get it. I'm literally from a plains cree tribe (name in English? Literally Jay Yellowbird, it's fucking retarded) but I don't see what that has to do with shitty reservations and oil production like you mentioned earlier.

The only current culture we add to Canada are cheap cigarettes, that's it. Maybe some smuggling but that's not a thing where I grew up, probably just FN retards that live near the border. Nothing of ours would make it into a Pokemon game. Maybe some old tribal legends and stories, that's about it. Before I moved to Toronto for work, I lived near a mountain and they used to tell us stories about witiko living there, or Wendigo, but that's not even a story native to us or even Canadian tribes. Well, the ice/mountain cannibal myths kinda are, but if I recall, the ones popularized in movies and shit are more liberal with the way they look and where they live, not at all like how I used to imagine them.

Most First Nation people are fucking assholes anyways. Russia, West Europe, and other places have way cooler 'minorities' (local ones, not imported shitskins) and legends and myths and whatnot for a Pokemon game.

We got oil, drunk Indians, Tim Hortons, and the Great Value brand at Wal Mart.

If they compressed Canada it would be cool.

Start in the East coast with an area based the Bay of Fundy, Halifax, and PEI. Cute little town and lots of water types and friendly people.

Then go up the St. Lawrence or take a train to an area with a massive city, lots of electric and poison types, subways, etc. Can be a mix of Toronto and Montreal.

Then a place with lots of forests and lakes. Black bears. I really want an evil looking dark type based on a moose or Wendigo.

Then Alberta has the Badlands, fossils, etc. Maybe a Pokemon that causes forest fires.

Into the mountains it's super comfy. Banff, Lake Louise, elk, Grizzlies, etc. Gondola, hot springs...

Then in BC there are kermode / spirit bears (fairy type.) Dragons. Stanley park. Totem poles.

The regions could be connected by train with grand Victorian hotels along the way.

In order to pack in the actual variety of regions available in Canada, you'd need to have lots of plane or train trips separating routes. It's really spread-out. I wouldn't really like that kind of disconnected region.

Southern Ontario being sandwiched by all those lakes does make for really swingy weather at least, going from giant mountains of snow to reaching half of boiling temperature in a single year, but they can just take ANY region and give it rapidly alternating hot/cold/wet weather every week as a game abstraction and no one would bat an eye anyway, so it wouldn't be special.

Best thing we'd get would be the 100% chance of a huge fucking moose Pokemon, and possibly a wendigo Pokemon.
