Lilycove was pretty cool. If you were lucky enough for there to be a sale on, there were LOADS of special items for your Secret Base. That, and the contest hall was there. Was a pain in the ass to have to wait until then in Emerald, but it was okay otherwise.
It was dumb having to beat your rival to access the store though. And they just sort of... disappear afterwards.
