Hi /vp/. I haven't played pokemon since gen 4. Does shit like PokeGen still work or is there something new now being used?

Also, do I need a Gen 5 game to move all my old pokemon to Gen 6/7?

Yes. You'd need to move the Pokemon from Gen IV to Gen V, and from there to Pokebank where you can move them to Gen VI or VII.

Pokegen works for Gen 4/5. PKHeX is the Gen 6 equivalent. You could save all your old gen 4 pokemon one by one as .pkm files and transfer them to Gen 6 using PKHeX.

You edit your save using pkhex, it's pretty much like pokesav was but better.

I thought it only supported Gen 3, 4, 5 .pkm files instead of supporting the saves themselves.
