Be honest with yourselves, before Sandygast and Palossand were revealed, did you EVER, at any point in time, seriously consider a sand castle Pokémon? And even if you did (Which is incredibly unlikely), did you REALLY think it'd be a good idea?
It makes no sense from a conceptual standpoint. People dying on beaches is not a common trope, and ghosts becoming generic RPG sand monsters isn't either. Ghost Pokémon haunting things that are expected of them and related to supernatural culture makes sense. This shit? Does not. It literally was just a crapshoot by Game Freak because "lol it's hawaii just make a sand pokemon cus beaches". They then think about sand castles, and we get a plastic piece of vomit that feels more at home in a Kirby game than it does a Pokémon game.
So, really, you're only being contrarian and a unovabortion by blindly defending this poor design. I challenge you to justify it's existence. I've already pointed out how even lorewise it's a crapshoot. It's a random RPG monster with no solid foundation.
