Back in 2010 smartphones were already twice as powerful as the 3DS. When a Pokemon game comes out on the NX which should be at least as strong as an Xbox 360 it's time to be hyped again.

The models are definitely future-proofed, but I don't think that's what causing the slowdown.
What I noticed is that it slows down every time there's a particle effect going on, like flashy moves or just leaves blowing in the background.
