A few years back most girls would've ignored me or made fun of me if I blatantly expressed I like pokemon. Now, with pokemon go, every other girl (and everyone, for that matter) is suddenly a fan and think you're weird or not cool if you're not playing pokemon go. It's nice to see pokemon being more mainstream than it is, but seeing people become fans of something you've loved your entire life and kind of butcher it feels weird.
The problem with girls is that they're the most flaky, impressionable creatures on the planet. If you look at pokemon tournaments and whatnot, at best only 10% of the serious competitors are female. The other females you see in those places are cosplayers or just riding the pokemon cock carousel.
For the most part I'm a normie with some social life and I date occasionally but wouldn't you feel bad if some girl you liked made fun of you for being a big pokemon fan and a year later she's suddenly posting about pokemon go and pokemon this and pokemon up her ass every time on social media?
