"Alolan Solrock/Lunatone have been considered by the people of Alola the pure forms of these pokemon. Unlike there Hoenn relatives, Alolan Solrock/Lunatone never descended on Earth and remained in open space. Because of the high pressure, the minerals inside them compact to the point of reforming there bodies in solid crystal. Solar winds slowly chipped away there exterior until finally revealing there new, shining bodies. But because of all the debris in space, an outer shell started forming once more. They sre known to go through "molting" periods, bathing in solar winds to remove all the rock.
It is unkown why these pokemon started to move recently to the Alolan region. Some have speculated that it might have to do with the mysterious fluxes of energy caused by dormant entities. What will these entities do when they will wake up alongside the Alolan Solrock/Lunatone only time will tell".
Also, yes I know solar winds don't really do that, but hey it's Pokemon, anything can happen.
