Was it really? Source? I'm playing blue now and they keep referring to cubones mom dying etc. And kanghaskhan is the only mom pokemok in game

No. Cubone's mother is Marowak. Kangaskhan has no relation with the Cubone line.
The problem is that breeding didn't exist in gen 1, so Pokemon like Cubone were made with the intent that you'd never actually witness one being born.

Regardless if Kangaskahn was meant to be cubones evo, i think it's cool how we saw a ghost marowak all the way in gen 1 now in gen 7 20 years later ghost marowak is a thing. Like whaaa

Allan Marowak is based on the concept of Marowak's death.

Anybody with a brain could have guessed that if Marowak were to get a Mega Evolution or an alternate form, it'd be Ghost-type and based on its death lore.

The description literally says they developed due to Grass-type predators
