Grass and Bug are kind of bad types, right? They suck a little, especially Bug. Any way to make a Grass-type Pokémon better?

bug is okay, mostly has a bad rap from the weak early bugmons of Gen I-IV

Poison does neutral damge against it or it resists poison altogether.

Poison is super effective agains Bugs.

Bugs are super effective against Fairy.

Bug super effective against Electric.

Why is Bug okay? With few exceptions it's always so weak.

I love Grass but with the advantage over Water and Rock aside, it doesn't offer anything really good. Well, maybe the spores.

Both are literally the worst offensive types. The problem is they're not even good defensively either. Both are easily worse than Ice and Rock, it's just not as apparent because they have a handful of mons that aren't shit.

bug is okay because it seems to pair well with other types (pure bug generally isn't very good) and it has access to a lot of tricky interesting moves like quiver dance and sticky web. i might be biased because bug is one of my favourite types but i don't think it's bad at all.

you're also forgetting the grass advantages over ground/electric which i think are a pretty big deal

Yeah I don't like Rock either. Ground is another type that I find near useless as well. Never understood why they divided Rock and Ground instead of making it the same type.
