I was 10 when the original red and blue came out, so i would say, what the heck. time travel back to 1999 and play the game all over again, and tell my younger self all about how to get a free lv. 7 mew using legit in game glitches. ;)

FRLG made them actually playable, so i would choose to be 10 today because of that and all the new games, obvious answer really

The former. Granted, I wasn't that old when they came out, but I much prefer seeing the franchise evolve over time. I mean, it started after I was born, so I feel kinda lucky, in a way, that I've got to see such a big, important franchise play out over two decades so far.

That being said, I think they've made missteps with Pokemon, but it's still neat to have been alive to see the entirety of it so far.

Also there was over 500 less Pokemon to memorize back then, EV training and natures and egg moves weren't a thing you had to consider, and there weren't a billion different evolution methods to keep track of. Shit was way easier back then and I'd rather start out with that and gradually learn new stuff as new games come out than have to deal with everything the games have now.
