It could've been Fairy/Ghost. Solgaleo and Lunala could've been able to equal each other out and Lunala wouldn't have to worry so much about having shitty weaknesses.

It seems that Gamefreak has the tendency to make pokemon with moon motifs not fairy type. When was the last time they introduced a fairy that shares visual characteristics of the moon? Exactly.

Honestly wish we had an alternative evolution for Clefairy. Don't get me wrong I like Clefable in game, but design wise it's so off putting. Like its face doesn't fit its body? Like it's a stretched out Clefairy? Idk just bugs me. It's the original moon pokemon so it's bound to get some love this upcoming gen. I really hope its not a mega though.

I can hope, but I don't think we're going to get anything, Anon. At least we get a whole bunch of new and adorable fairymons.

Ehhhh i was thinking of a dark side of the moon type deal. Maybe water fairy since the moon manipulates the waves? What else could they go for psychic fairy? Maybe give her dark water and drop the fairy but that wouldn't make sense since its THE fairy pokemon

Dark and Fairy are the "Moon" types. Lunala isn't either type.

Cresselia wasn't retconned Fairy.

Celebi, which is a literal fairy, did not become Grass/Fairy.

Luxray isn't Electric/Dark, Emboar isn't a quadrapedal Fire/Ground type, Electivire isn't Electric/Fighting, Golduck isn't Water/Psychic, Venomoth isn't Bug/Psychic.

It's almost Gen 7, and as of right now we don't have...
Bug/Dark
Bug/Psychic
Bug/Dragon
Ghost/Rock
Ghost/Normal
Ghost/Fighting
Fighting/Ground
Fighting/Dragon
Fire/Ice
Fire/Grass

Only one...
Grass/Ground
Fire/Ground

There are TONS of Water/Ground, though.

There is no hope for Gamefreak.

Stufisk was almost Water/Electric and the Frillish line were almost pure-Water, but then GF realised Unova needed more diversity. If only they used that same logic on other mons that needed it.

Also, the lake trio weren't made Psychic/Fairy despite being based on fey creatures yet Mr. Mime the creepy pedo clown was.

I really don't like the design of this.

I mean it's not horrible like the genie trio or the knights or something.

But I think the moon legendary looks pretty lame and gay. Solgaleo however looks great.

I bet I would enjoy the moon story over the sun one though. Moon and Night are always more interesting than Sun and Day
