Resolution is the least relavent part of gaming. Every other technical measurement is more important.

I feel the screen is 720p, so it renders that when in portable mode for better battery life. 720p on a 6 inch screen looks very good.

When docked in the console thing it'll probably output 1080p to a TV.

That and the massive framedrops that makes the gen 6 games look smooth.
That said I can't wait to play Go in the winter. I won't have to wear gloves because my phone can keep me warm enough.

not completely true, even on a 3yo Galaxy S4
while it DOES rape my battery (it dies in 2 hours when some other games like MPQ can be played for up to 4 hours and normal activity like texting/browsing/multimedia can have up to 6hrs of screen-on time) my phone doesn't really overheat. It could be because it's 20C in Scotland though
newer phones can probably deal with heat more efficiently too
