It was a nice concept with some okay ideas, but they were rather poorly implemented.
>>28130330>Pokemon Conquest is perfectly fine the way it is.No, it most certainly is not. And I say this having 200+ hours in the game.
First off, every pokémon having only one move made some utter shit and others amazing. Pokémon like Luxray and Ampharos are garbage on most maps as you often don't have enough space to move around on, and the accuracy is utter trash. More moves on each pokémon would be a minimum, as it would give you more options in battle, and would make fighting the enemy more interesting.
The maps, while fun enough the first few times, get repetitive. By having the same objectives every time, you can easily just form a general strategy and have it work nine out of ten times when you're attacking (and you're usually attacking). This is made worse by the fact that every training/recruiting map (farms, caves etc.) all have the same layout. It gets boring. Having more maps and having these chosen randomly would make you think more about who you bring into battle and how to maneuver the battlegrounds.
Pokémon with low movement are generally terrible, as they have barely moved over the field when the battle is over. Pokémon with high movement is OP on banner maps, and flying pokémon are overall amazing.
The links following your character makes most battles later on in the game easy unless you choose not to use the perfect link for some reason. It also depends on whether or not Gabite-dude shows up and decides to say fuck you. I guess it's somewhat good that he's there, it would be too easy otherwise.
