As for the Pokemon, that's the point. Black and bad Pokemon and White has good Pokemon. But for the sequels, they switch, giving the player of Pokemon Black to have a chance to get good Pokemon in its sequel.
I would say go for White and White 2. I did Black and Black 2, but I prefer White 2 only because of the shiny Dratini you can get for clearing the Tree Hollow.
