Start with something simple- no egg moves, no special Pokeball. I recommend Beldum/Metagross because it has the benefit of also not being terrible.
Extra things to consider:
>Hidden AbilityFemales pass it down no matter what, like 60-80% of the time. Males pass it down ONLY WITH DITTO like 20% of the time.
>SPECIAL POKEBALLS (Premier Ball, Luxury Ball, etc.)Only pass down through females. This really sucks with 87.5%Male/12.5%Female species (starters, some "special" mons like Riolu)
>Egg MovesUse a male with the move you want, and a female of the species you want. They need to be in the same egg group. Females and males will pass down any egg moves they know with their own species / Ditto, so once you get it into your breeding line its no big deal, you just have to do the initial work. I usually put 4 egg moves on any Pokemon I bother breeding, even if I don't plan on using the move, just in case I want it on the line for future use.
>ShiniesYour living dex already gave you a shiny charm. Use a alternate-language Partner to double your rate of shiny encounters again (hello Japanese Ditto)! I think its like 1/500 with both, which is still stupid, but no reason to not at least roll with the JPDitto in case you get lucky.
Make sure you have a Pokemon with Flame Body. Get Hatching O-Power Level 3. Watch lots of Netflix while hatching. Wonder Trade your half-decent (4 IV) rejects and check what you get back because you can usually find some good stuff that kickstarts your next breeding project.
